HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Feliz Año Nuevo!!! means HAPPY NEW YEAR
we would need 3 words to say 'happy new year'
1) Feliz (फेलीज़) means 'happy'
2) año(आन्यो) means 'year' (  ñ is to be pronounce as 'न्या' )
3) nuevo(नूऐवो) means 'new'

in this phrase the word 'nuevo' is an adjective and to emphasise the phrase it is used after the noun 'year' not before. Though the literal translation here is 'happy year new' as per sequence of the words, but actually it means " HAPPY NEW YEAR" ... so once again
 Feliz Año Nuevo!!!
(फेलीज़ आन्यो नूऐवो)

Good Morning

The spanish way to say good morning is "Buenos días". (बुएनोस दियास)Now lets try to know the literal meaning of this phrase.
The word "bueno" which is an adjective ,means "good" and the plural of the word "bueno(बुएनो)" is "buenos(बुएनोस )"

IMPORTANT-In spanish the adjectives changes in numbers according to noun. It means if the noun is plural then we will use the plural form of adjective and if the noun is singular then we would use singular form of adjective.

Now, the word "Día" means "day" and "Días(दियास)" means "days".

So the literal meaning of "Buenos Días(बुएनोस दियास)" is "Good days".To say good morning in spanish we have to focus on two words
1) Buenos(बुएनोस)
2)  Días ( दियास)

Lets greet our family members-
Buenos Días  madre ( बुएनोस दियास  मादरे)
Buenos Días  padre ( बुएनोस दियास पादरे)
Buenos Días  hijo ( बुएनोस दियास  इखो)
Buenos Días   hija ( बुएनोस दियास  इखा)
Buenos Días  hermano ( बुएनोस दियास  एरमानो)
Buenos Días  hermana ( बुएनोस दियास  एरमाना)

Now lets add few more words-
chico-boy
chica-girl
 tío-uncle
 tía-aunty

Lets greet them-
Buenos Días  chico(बुएनोस दियास चीको)
Buenos Días  chica(बुएनोस दियास चीका)
Buenos Días  tío (बुएनोस दियास  तिओ)

Happy Christmas

Today is Christmas, so i decided to write a post about the way spanish people greet each other on Christmas.
To wish, the spanish natives use the word "Feliz" (फेलिस) or (फेलीज़).'  Both are correct pronunciation as it varies from region to region.'Feliz' means 'happy'. In Spnaish for ' Christmas' we use the word "Navidad"(नावीदाद). So Happy Christmas would be pronounce as "Feliz Navidad"
Lets greet the family members.

 ¡Feliz Navidad madre! (Happy Christmas mother)(फेलिस नावीदाद मादरे)
 ¡Feliz Navidad padre ! (Happy Christmas father)(फेलिस नावीदाद पादरे)
 ¡Feliz Navidad hijo ! (Happy Christmas son )(फेलिस नावीदाद   इखो)
 ¡Feliz Navidad hija ! (Happy Christmas daughter)(फेलिस नावीदाद  इखा)
 ¡Feliz Navidad hermano ! (Happy Christmas brother )(फेलिस नावीदाद एरमानो )
 ¡Feliz Navidad hermana ! (Happy Christmas sister)(फेलिस नावीदाद एरमाना)

Note- In spanish, while writing exclamatory sentence , two exclamation marks has to be used, first at the begining in inverted form( ¡) and second at the last of sentence in normal form (!)

Introduction

The Spanish Alphabets

All the alphabets are same as English  . Amongst them , pronunciation of the alphabet 'j' is very interesting and varies from region to region. As a general rule , it has to be pronounce like "kha(ख).  Also there are 3 more special alphabets which are as follows and will be covered in subsequent units.
1)      Ch (pronounce as ‘च’ )
2)      LL (pronounce as ‘य’  )
3)      ñ  (pronounce as  न्या   )

Sounds of Vowels
a (आ)
e(ए)
i(ई)
o(ओ)
u(ऊ)
The first Vocabulary
I have selected 6 simple words so that we could be  familiar with the pronunciation easily. I have uploaded the audio file also to know the accent of the spanish native.
1.)Mother – Madre (मादरे)
Note – every vowel has to be pronounced so we will also pronounce last ‘e’ also which is generally not pronounce in english and its pronunciation is like 'ए' in hindi.
2)Father – Padre (पादरे)

3)Son- Hijo(इखो)

Note- ‘h’ is silent in Spanish.and 'j' is pronounce as "kha"(ख)

4)Daughter- Hija(इखा)

5)Brother- hermano (एरमानो)

6)Sister – hermana (एरमाना)

Today we have learnt 6 words.
Madre
Padre
hijo
hija
hermano
hermana
Now we are going to greet them. The easiest way of saying is 'Hola' which means 'hello' or 'hi'. Unlike english, the word 'hola' can be used in formal as well as informal ways. Now lets come to pronunciation.
Since 'h' is silent in spanish , so the pronunciation would be 'ओला' not 'होला'..Lets say 'hello' to all the family memebers :)
Hola madre (ओला मादरे)
Hola padre (ओला पादरे)
Hola hijo (ओला इखो)
Hola hija (ओला इखा)
Hola hermano (ओला एरमानो)
Hola hermana (ओला एरमाना)

Now before leaving its important to know how to say 'bye' to them :) so the word for 'bye' is 'Adiós' (आदिओस). Note the accent on 'o' is to indicate that the stress has to be given on the final vowel while pronouncing 'Adiós'

¡Adiós madre!(आदिओस मादरे
¡Adiós padre!(आदिओस पादरे)
¡Adiós hijo!(आदिओस इखो)
¡Adiós hija!(आदिओस इखा)
¡Adiós hermano!(आदिओस  एरमानो)
¡Adiós hermana!(आदिओस एरमाना)
